of our model ships come directly from our manufacturer in California. The process
of selecting the manufacturer of our model ships took several months as the
many manufacturers do not meet our standards and quality control.
The manufacturer of our model ships, HMS, had been building model ships since
1959. They concentrated on the smallest details with the original ships and
boats to make sure that their customers are satisfied with their purchase every
time. This process took years to perfect since every ship and boat needs to
have the same precise details. The ships and boats that do not meet the quality
standards are destroyed.

HOW OUR MANUFACTURER BUILD THE MODELS
Research
Authenticity is very important; therefore, every available resource and details
to insure that the models are as authentic as possible.
Design
After the research is complete, we use the software CAD to draft a 3D image
of the ship and a majority of the tiny wood pieces.
Component Construction
Only the best quality woods were used to make the different parts of each ship.
The wood includes: cherry, birch, maple, blackwood, white lotus, walnut, rosewood,
teak, yellow siris and light ebony, and more.
Each piece is made by hand; to reduce the time and cost of making these pieces,
the computer is attached to a laser cutter, which cuts the piece perfectly every
time.
Assembly
After the completion of all necessary pieces for the ships, the construction
process begins. Each stage of the specialized construction process has experts
monitoring. This allows the models to be made faster, and still meet the high
quality standards.
Inspection
The final stage of the process is inspection. Once a model meets the strict
quality standards, then it is made available for sale. For every order placed,
it is inspected before shipped.
