Features: Brass Sextant Paperweight 3"

This Hampton Nautical premium 3-inch radius sextant is our finest miniature brass sextant. The sextant is a reproduction of a small lifeboat sextant used in emergencies for navigation. Despite it's small size, it is meticulously and precisely crafted. It has a gear-driven adjustment of the elevation angle. The sextant paperweight is a beautiful desktop accessory. The sextant's limb is engraved Hampton Nautical.

While this sextant is fully functional, it is not calibrated nor intended for navigation. This sextant is available in a beautiful polished brass finish.

3” Long x 3” Wide x 1.5” High

  • Polished brass body and mechanisms
  • Glass optics for a clear view (not plastic lenses)
  • Fully functional sextant operates like a real navigational tool
  • Solid rosewood box lined with felt to store sextant
  • Brass anchor emblem inset in face of rosewood box

This functional sextant is crafted as a beautiful nautical décor item and is not calibrated, intended or recommended for actual navigational use

Authenticity is very important; therefore, every available resource and details to insure that the models are as authentic as possible.

Research on All Handcrafted Ships

After the research is complete, we use the software CAD to draft a 3D image of the ship and a majority of the tiny wood pieces.

Using CAD to draft 3D image of the ship

Component Construction

Only the best quality woods were used to make the different parts of each ship. The wood includes: cherry, birch, maple, blackwood, white lotus, walnut, rosewood, teak, yellow siris and light ebony, and more.

Each piece is made by hand; to reduce the time and cost of making these pieces, the computer is attached to a laser cutter, which cuts the piece perfectly every time.

Component construction of handcrafted model ships

After the completion of all necessary pieces for the ships, the construction process begins. Each stage of the specialized construction process has experts monitoring. This allows the models to be made faster, and still meet the high quality standards.

Assembly of All Model Ships

The final stage of the process is inspection. Once a model meets the strict quality standards, then it is made available for sale. For every order placed, it is inspected before shipped.
